These Terms and Conditions are the operational terms of One Button Studio. They are not a policy of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and have not been issued or approved by the University. Where applicable law or a binding KNUST requirement says something different, that law or requirement applies.
Please read these terms before you book. By placing a booking, buying a membership or using this website, you agree to them.
1.About these terms
One Button Studio is a content creation and studio facility by CARISCA, located at CARISCA, KNUST School of Business, Kumasi, Ghana. It operates within the KNUST environment.
The operator of the studio for the purposes of these terms is: [PLACEHOLDER: Legal name of the studio operator].
In these terms, "the studio", "we" and "us" mean One Button Studio and its operator. "You" means the person making a booking and anyone who attends a session under that booking.
These terms should be read together with the other studio policies published on this website:
2.Status of these terms and order of priority
The studio's terms and policies are operational rules for people who use the facility. They do not replace, and cannot override:
- the laws of Ghana;
- KNUST statutes, regulations and policies;
- KNUST security requirements and student disciplinary procedures;
- instructions given by authorised KNUST officials.
Where two sets of rules apply to the same situation, they rank in this order:
- The laws of Ghana.
- Binding KNUST statutes, regulations and policies.
- Applicable institutional requirements of KNUST and the KNUST School of Business.
- A specific written contract between you and the studio, for the engagement it covers.
- These Terms and Conditions and the other studio policies.
- Conditions attached to an individual booking.
The studio cannot make a rule that overrides Ghanaian law or a binding KNUST requirement. If part of these terms conflicts with either, that part gives way and the rest continues to apply.
KNUST publishes its institutional policies on its University Policies page. Those documents, as updated by the University from time to time, are the authoritative source for KNUST rules.
3.Eligibility
- You must give accurate and complete information when you book.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into the booking agreement.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must make the booking for you or give consent for it, and the rules on minors in the Content and Recording Policy apply.
- Student pricing is only for people who meet the Student Booking Policy.
We may decline or cancel a booking made with false or misleading information.
4.Your account and details
You can book as a guest or create an account. Either way:
- keep your contact details accurate, because we use them to confirm the booking and to reach you about it;
- keep your password and booking links private, and do not let another person use your account to obtain a price or benefit they are not entitled to;
- tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account or booking.
5.Bookings
A booking is confirmed only when the confirmation condition for it has been met. For a booking made online, that condition is successful payment, unless an administrator has approved a different arrangement in writing. Where the studio has switched on booking approval, a paid booking is also subject to that approval.
Until payment is received, the slot you selected is held for 30 minutes and then released.
The full booking rules, including arrival, overtime, rescheduling and cancellation, are in the Booking and Cancellation Policy.
6.Prices and payment
- Prices are shown in Ghana Cedis (GHS).
- Prices are set by the studio and may change. A confirmed booking keeps the price shown when it was confirmed, unless a correction is required by law or the price was an obvious error.
- Any discount is applied at checkout when you qualify for it. Where a discount depends on your status, we may ask for proof.
- Online payments are processed by Paystack. Your use of Paystack is also subject to Paystack's own terms and privacy practices.
Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.
7.Memberships
A membership is a prepaid allowance of studio hours for a fixed period.
- Activation: a membership becomes active once payment for it has been received and verified.
- Hours: the number of hours included and the period they are valid for are shown on the membership before you buy it.
- Using hours: hours are drawn down as you book. Each booking remains subject to availability and to the studio policies.
- Unused hours: hours that are not used before the membership expires are lost, unless the membership states otherwise.
- Additional hours: hours beyond the allowance are charged at the rate shown for your membership at the time of booking.
- Renewal: memberships do not renew automatically unless you have agreed to that with the studio.
- Transfer: a membership is personal to the member. It cannot be transferred to, or shared with, another person unless the studio has agreed in writing.
- Student memberships: only eligible KNUST students may hold a student membership. See the Student Booking Policy.
- Suspension and cancellation: we may suspend or end a membership that has been obtained with false information, shared in breach of these terms, or used in serious breach of the studio policies. Refunds for a cancelled membership follow the Refund Policy.
8.Corporate and institutional bookings
Bookings for organisations may involve a custom quotation, a separate contract, a purchase order, invoicing, additional production requirements or additional access requirements.
Where a separate written contract exists, that contract takes priority over these terms for the engagement it covers. These terms continue to apply to anything the contract does not address.
9.Studio closure
The studio may need to close temporarily, or to withdraw a slot, because of:
- KNUST events or institutional requirements;
- maintenance;
- security concerns;
- power or infrastructure problems;
- emergencies;
- events described under "Events outside our control" below.
If the studio cancels a confirmed booking, you will be offered a reschedule or a refund as set out in the Refund Policy.
10.Events outside our control
Neither you nor the studio is in breach of these terms for a failure caused by an event outside that party's reasonable control. Examples include natural disasters, major infrastructure failures, government restrictions, closure of the University, security incidents, fire, flood and public emergencies.
This section does not excuse the studio from responsibility for ordinary operational failures within its control. Where such an event prevents a confirmed session, the closure rules above apply.
11.Responsibility for loss and damage
- You are responsible for your conduct in the studio and for the conduct of the people you bring.
- Responsibility for damage to studio property is set out in the Studio Policy.
- You are responsible for your personal belongings. The studio is not responsible for their loss or theft, except where the law requires otherwise or the loss was caused by the studio's own negligence.
- You are responsible for the content you create. See the Content and Recording Policy.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including responsibility for negligence or unlawful conduct.
12.Refusing or ending a session
Studio staff may refuse entry, pause a session or end it where a person breaches these terms or the studio policies, or where the activity presents a reasonable legal, safety, reputational or institutional risk. Whether a refund is due in that case is covered by the Refund Policy.
13.Complaints
You can raise a complaint about a booking, a payment, equipment, the conduct of staff, safety, privacy or content.
- Studio support: [PLACEHOLDER: Studio support contact]
- Studio manager: [PLACEHOLDER: Studio manager contact]
- Privacy matters: [PLACEHOLDER: Privacy contact]
Tell us what happened, when, and your booking reference if you have one. We will acknowledge the complaint, look into it and tell you the outcome. A complaint that concerns a KNUST student, a member of KNUST staff or the safety of the University community may be referred to the appropriate KNUST channel where that is required.
14.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version, effective date and last updated date are shown at the top of this page. The version that applies to a booking is the one in force when the booking was placed.
